First Care Services serves to help each individual realize his/her goals and works with them to achieve independence while fostering dignity and self-respect. Our vision is to nurture and rehabilitate individuals with intellectual disabilities while promoting their transition from dependence to self-sufficiency to the greatest degree possible. Our multidisciplinary team conducts comprehensive assessments, establishes viable individual service plans, teaches life and job skills, and links Persons Served to appropriate community resources. Our program provides transportation to and from health related appointments. We also partner with community agencies to better meet the needs of the Person Served.
Our philosophy is that individuals with intellectual disabilities are full citizens of the Commonwealth and as such deserve to be fully integrated into society. However, their strengths and challenges must be assessed and a supportive network must be provided in order that they live their lives to the fullest degree possible. It is our belief that most people to include individuals with intellectual disabilities functions best in a community-based, coordinated system of comprehensive services.

Our Approach
Our programs are based on the values that everyone has needs and deserves to belong, to be loved, to be treated with dignity and respect, to be self-directing, and to be recognized as a valued member of the community with the same inherent rights as anyone else.
Our scope of supportive services is focused on serving individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, as well as Pervasive Developmental Disorders, such as Autism in a safe and home-like setting.
We design therapeutic person-centered programs with the collaboration of our individual, their family members and our team of trained professionals. Our goal is to facilitate independence and personal growth to attain one’s goals and dreams.

Our Services
Our services are person-centered and address the strengths and the needs of the individual. Services are provided in a manner that emphasizes and supports the individual’s health, safety, choice, self-determination, independence, and total well-being. We also believe that diversity of opportunities, integration, participation, and satisfaction are key to a good life for the individual.

Our Mission
To provide 24 hour supervised, quality residential care in a nurturing, warm home-like setting for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We strive to promote skill development, progressive use of leisure time, community socialization and personal development to be able to live, work and be an active citizen in the community.
